Founded by French Buddhist monk Matthieu Ricard, Karuna-Shechen is a non-governmental organization that acts and advocates for a more altruistic world.

Sandi Higgins (as Utpal Devi) edited the short documentary Stupas For Peace Pilgrimage for Shechen Monastery - Dilgo Khyentse Fellowship, India, 2010. This 20 minute film documents the pilgrimage to consecrate Eight Stupas for Peace in the sacred places of the life of the Buddha in Nepal and India. Shechen Monastery is dedicated to the flourishing of Tibetan Buddhist spiritual and cultural activities, and to fulfilling the vision and projects of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, a greatly revered and accomplished meditation master committed to the transmission and preservation of Tibet’s spiritual legacy.
